Eye Spy – Favorite Links 07-12-14
This was a strange week for me as I was crazy busy with multiple projects, attending events and addressing life issues (that came out of nowhere). So this may be why some of the links this week deal with deeper issues such as being a caregiver, dealing with the death of a friend and finding your true love.
– I consider myself very fortunate to have become acquainted with the team behind the awesome TART comic series, artist Ludovic Sallé and writer Kevin Joseph. They recently launched a KickStarter campaign for TART #4 and I encourage you to support them as I have !
– I heard about Andrew W.K.’s response in his Village Voice advice column on how to deal with the death of a friend on NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour and when I read it, I burst out in tears because what he wrote was the most truthful, profound, loving and compassionate thing I have read in a long, long time.
– Shauna Haider’s NubbyTwiglet.com blog sets the blogging standard for me and I have turned to it over and over during the past several years for inspiration, motivation and advice. One day I hope to attend amazing BLOGACADEMY she co-founded with fellow bloggers Gala Darling and Kat Williams!
-I have been following Queen of Blending’s YouTube Video Channel for awhile now and I love her beauty tutorials because although she is a makeup artist, she doesn’t take herself too seriously – I especially love watching her prank tutorials as they are hilarious!!! Recently though she posted this video announcing her engagement and seeing her talk about finding her true love and soulmate touched me deeply. True love is for real folks!
– One of the best women’s DIY lifestyle blogs ever is A Beautiful Mess created by sisters Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman. They make the DIY lifestyle fun, cool and attainable!
– A few months back when I attended the NASASocial Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Deep Space Network #DSN50, one of the amazing fellow attendees I met was Jed Dore from the award winning art & design studio ink+Sword from my hometown of Brooklyn, NY. So far I have 4 of their Stellar Science Series prints and I am looking forward to collecting more !
