    MBFW NY SS15 Schedule

Yes, it is that time of year again already – MBFW New York SS15 kicks-off this week!

After a year of roiling debates over such topics as the worthiness of fashion bloggers, the continuing lack of diversity among the models walking down the runway and the craziness of the fashion season scheduling, I can only hope that the negativity will calm down a notch or two so that we who love fashion and all its iterations can enjoy one of our favorite times of the year.

Here is the MBFW_SS15_Schedule_PDF and the full schedule is here.

Just like last season, you can watch every runway show from the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015 Collections, being held in New York September 4th to 11th 2015 here on MoneKnows.com !

British designer, architect and artist Cecil Balmond‘s critically acclaimed sculpture H_Edge has it made its UK debut in London’s Spitalfields in a fascinating bespoke configuration in the reflecting pool opposite the Allen & Overy building (open until October 2014).

    H_Edge by Cecil Balmond_1

Originally debuting at the Artist Space in New York in 2006, this installation has brought wonderment and joy globally to such places as the Graham Foundation of Fine Art in Chicago, the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, the Tokyo Opera City Gallery in Tokyo as well as in and Milan and recently at the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence, see the video below.

As well as H_Edge, Cecil Balmond has a number of forthcoming public art projects including commissions for the Chicago Transit Authority and MESA Art Center, Arizona and one of his recent sculptures, a light sculpture Snow Words (for the State of Alaska Arts Council) was named one of the best public artworks of 2013 by the Americans for the Arts, Public Art Network Year in Review.

    Lucki Eck$ via Grandstand Media

From Red Bull Sound Select, Chicago’s Lucki Eck$ Weightin’ On featuring Detroit rapper Danny Brown fuses together Lucki Eck$’s nonchalant and laid back style with Brown’s unpretentious hip hop skills with a ghettotech tinge. The collaboration was born out of the two having both performed at Red Bull Sound Select’s: 4 Days in Austin this past March, at which Lucki Eck$ opened for Danny Brown as part of Red Bull Sound Select’s effort to pair emerging artists with headlining acts. The track will be released exclusively through Red Bull Sound Select. Check out the track below on my playlist !

The London Design Festival (Sept 13th-Sept 16th) kicks off London’s fall creative season, alongside London Fashion Week, the Frieze Art Fair and the London Film Festival.

Established in 2003, London Design Festival’s role is to celebrate and promote London as the world’s design capital and gateway to the International design community and with last year’s Festival attracting an audience of over 350,000 people, from over 60 countries, it is well on it’s way to achieving that goal!

Kipling Celebrates Miami International Mall Opening

If you know me, then you know that I have a great love of all things handbag and handbag related!

Last week Kipling North America, a division of VF Sportswear, Inc., held a grand celebration for the opening of its fifth, full-price, U.S. retail location at the Miami International Mall, a Simon™ property, which included a performance and meet and greet with the face of its #BacktoKiplingCampaign, YouTube darling and pop recording artist, Megan Nicole.

Known for its bright and playful handbags, totes, backpacks, luggage and
accessories “to lighten one’s day,” Kipling tapped international design
powerhouse UXUS to develop a new store concept that emulates its Make
Happy point-of-view. Kipling, at Miami International Mall, will be the second
location in the U.S. and the first in South Florida to feature this new Kipling
    shopping experience.
