My favorite conversation of the week involves fashion.

Location – my room at my desk in front of the computer. On the screen is a pic of an amazing  buyer/super-stylist/iconoclast wearing an impeccable ensemble.

I call my niece over to discuss said outfit with her and this is what ensues:

Me:   “Oh My God, do you see this outfit niece ?!?!?!  I could rock that or something like that.”

Niece:  “No, you could not (said with exasperation) !”

Me: “Why not?”

Niece: “It looks good on her, but would not look good on you cause she can do that.  You would look ridiculous – on her it’s cute”

Me: “How about the earrings?”

Niece:  “No!”, said with level 10 teen eye-roll .

Me:  “How about the shoes?”

Niece: “No! Those are too high and you will kill yourself!”

Me: “What about the hair?”

Niece: “Aarghhhhh….. I am leaving now …”

And she does leave muttering to herself,  but not  quietly cause I can hear her say that I drive her crazy with this fashion stuff.
